In Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the story picks up after Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his friends escape from the maze. They are taken to a facility where they are promised safety and answers. However, they soon discover that the facility is part of a larger, more sinister experiment controlled by the organization WCKD (World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department).

After escaping the facility, the group finds themselves in a desolate, dangerous world known as “The Scorch.” The environment is ravaged by the sun’s intense heat and populated by hostile creatures, including zombie-like creatures called Cranks. As they venture through the treacherous landscape, Thomas and his friends must fight for survival while discovering more about WCKD’s dark motives.
As they meet new allies and face dangerous obstacles, Thomas becomes determined to uncover the truth about the mysterious experiments and the fate of their loved ones. The group’s struggle to survive in the Scorch sets the stage for the continuing battle against WCKD in the subsequent films.
